Azeroth Survivors save files

Back up progress, move it to another browser or computer, and understand what importing will replace.

Export a backup first. The game's save screen says importing a file replaces all current progress with the progress in that file. Keep a copy from each device before choosing which one to import.

Export your progress

  1. Open the official game on the device and browser that has your progress.
  2. Open Options → Saves, then choose Export Save.
  3. Keep the downloaded .sav file somewhere you can find it. Browser downloads use a timestamped name.

Heroes, opened zones, gear, talents and the codex are described by the game as part of the progress file.

Move to another browser or computer

  1. First export a backup from the destination too, if it already contains progress.
  2. On the destination, open the official game and go to Options → Saves → Import Save.
  3. Select the file you exported. The source code accepts .sav and .txt files in the browser picker.

Import replaces progress; it is not described as a merge. Compatibility between specific game builds and devices has not been tested by this guide.

Where is my save?

The browser build stores progress in the browser for the game's own site. It is separate from this guide's local talent planner. Browsers keep site data separately, so a different browser, profile, or device will not automatically have the same progress.

If an export says it downloaded but you cannot find it, check the browser's download list and its configured download folder. The game text describes one backup every hour of play and keeping the last five in the Saves screen. Availability can depend on the browser's stored data.

Does progress sync between devices?

The browser build keeps its progress in the game's site data; a different browser, profile or device does not automatically have that data. Use the game's export and import options to transfer a copy. Mobile-device and cross-version compatibility have not been verified for every setup.

Importing replaces the destination's current progress. Export both copies first if you need to preserve them.

Import errors

The game has separate messages for an unrecognised save and for a file that is damaged or edited. Keep the original file and try an untouched export or an available backup; do not overwrite the only remaining copy.

Sources and discussion

These steps are based on the official browser helper and in-game text from the v0.135.1 snapshot. Players have also asked about moving progress from the browser in this mobile discussion. Individual device reports do not establish compatibility for every device.
